Spalding's KOB All-Weather Volleyball to debut at EEVB events in 2011
The results from the February 26-27 Corona Light Big Shot Volleyball Tournament are now listed online at http://www.eevb.net/cw1_results.htm. It also includes the Grand Prix points earned by players as they vie for $25,000 in cash prizes in the end of the season Volley America Grand Prix.
Over 450 p-layers competed in the tournament on 200 teams during the 2 day event. The premier divisions were the men’s and women’s Open Divisions which each awarded $1,500 cash prizes plus a trip to Atlantic City to compete in the $8,000 Big Shot Championships. The Men’s Open division was won by Steve grotowski and Adrian carambula who defeated Matt Henderson and JD Christie 21-17, 22-20. The women’s Open Division was won by Brooke sweat and Kristen Batt who defeated Megan Wallin and Chara Harris 21-17, 21-13
Steve Grotowski, sponsored by east end Volleyball, is expected to represent Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics in London. Fans can follow his progress to the Olympics on the East End Volleyball Facebook page.
Top male and female doubles teams will compete for over $75,000 cash prizes during the 2011 season including $12,000 at the Spring Florida events. Tournament play will start at 9 am with women’s finals scheduled for 6 pm Saturday and men’s finals 12 noon Sunday. Admission is free for all spectators.

The Big Shot Volleyball Series holds 35 events leading to the August $8,000 Big Shot Championships in Atlantic City, NJ and the $5,000 Rox Volleyball National Championships October in Clearwater Beach.
Separate divisions will be held for players of intermediate and novice levels on Saturday and Sunday. The $60 entry fee entitles players to a full day of tournament play, an official Rider Sandals Big Shot Volleyball t-shirt, and a chance to win merchandise prizes from tournament sponsors Rider Sandals, Rox Volleyball, 1st Place Volleyball, SOB Volleyball Vacations, Sixpak Volleygear, Vincere Sports, Dig Magazine, Sweet Tomatoes, Bally’s Casino and Park and Sun Sports. The public can met the players every Saturday evening at the official Player’s Party.
A new event has been added to the tournaments for 2011, the Rox Volleyball Junior Series. Every Sunday at the Florida tournaments there will be divisions for junior players in the following boys and girls divisions:
