Suggestions anyone?

I just started the couch to 5k workout program.  I downloaded it on my daughters' ipod touch.  I love it so far but as a busy mom of 2 kids and a part time nurse does anyone have any suggestions as to how to keep with it?

    Honestly - sometimes you won't be able to keep up.  But that shouldn't scare you or take away from what you're doing.  Stick to the program as best as you can and if you aren't right on track - no big deal.  You're still getting out there and working on getting/staying healthy.  That's what it's all about.  Programs are there to guide and are not the most important aspect.  Good Luck!!

    Welcome Mom & congratulations on starting the C25k program. Everyone's day seems packed w/ demands, but running, or a fitness program of some kind, can yield benefits beyond the time invested. Schedule a regular time each day to do this for YOU. Some ppl schedule it early in the morning prior to getting the family the family & self off to work. That may mean getting up 45 min. earlier than norm. Some do it on lunch break, other's in the evening. Select a time that doable for you. Then stick with it. Make it a priority, and it will become a habit before you know it. Just like brushing your teeth, it makes you feel good and keeps you healthy. Better yet, it gives you the energy and stamina to deal w/ kids, job, and life in general.

    Join one of threads here w/ others beginning their journey. You will find encouragement, motivation and the occasional kick in the pants that we all need.

    I can relate as a mom of 3 kids and also working part time.  I'm finishing week 4, and I've been finishing the 3 weekly workouts in about 7-9 days.  I look at the week and plan the days/times of my runs.  I know if I don't schedule it, I probably won't do it.  My family has been really supportive also.  You can do this!

    I am in the same boat and started yesterday. I think it is a huge thing that you can look for support here. Just joining some sort of forum really makes it exciting to see where other people are and that it is something you can achieve. You see that there are a lot of people just like you with 2, 3, 4 kids and juggeling work and doing this program. I am sure there will be the occasional roadblock for all of us, but overcoming them will make us stronger in our program. I want to be all that I can be as a mom and as a professional and I know I need to be healthy to do that. Good luck in your journey!!

    I have 4 kids,  I run after I drop thme of at school or I run before they get up.  I also run in the mornings on the weekend when my husband can stay with them.

    I have two little kids and I work full time (and I have a second job at night).  I manage it in the time between leaving work and picking the kids up from daycare.  It means a bit of rushing around in the afternoons but by the time I pick up the kids I've done something for myself and I have more energy and it's easier for me to give them what they need.  I agree that coming up with a schedule, writing it on the calendar, and sticking with it is the best way to do it.  And, forgive yourself when the best laid plans fall apart, because that happens too.
