Greene County Parks is excited to open registration for the 2011 Greene Trails Cycling Classic whick will be held July 14th - July 17, 2011. This four day, family-oriented get-away is centered in Greene County and is a multi-day bicycle tour designed to showcase the nationally recognized and award-winning rail-to-trail system, along with the varied communities along the trail.
All rides begin and end at the event campgrounds located at Greene County Parks' Fairgrounds Recreation Center, with each day featuring and utilizing a different trail. Specific routes are supported for rider convenience and safety, including package pick-up for shoppers. Routes will include on-trail, out-and-back trips, as well as extended rides on rural routes for designated days.
The broad network of trails provides an exceptional cycling experience for families or individuals along the safety and comfort of the trails, while alternate routes offer a choice for the more adventurous. Each day will offer special entertainment opportunities and unique things to see and do along the way.
One of the best things about this event is that if you can't be here all 4 days, you can Design-a-Ride that fits your family's busy lifestyle and schedule. Fees are available for 1,2, 3 or all 4 days and includes a tent campsite, bathing facilities, ride support, evening entertainment for the number of nights registered as well as breakfast and Thursday and Saturday evening meals.
