I've already injured myself  :(

On Saturday (April 9th), I did Week 1 Day 3 of C25K.  Afterward, my left knee felt sore & tight.  I waited till yesterday to run again (Tuesday, April 12).  As soon as I began jogging, my knee felt bad.  I pushed through it, thinking it would loosen up.  By the end, I was limping &, when I got home, it didn't even want to bear weight.  I'm so upset about this.  I mean, who gets hurt on the 4th day?!  Sigh.

My good friend is an occupational therapist & she recommended KT Tape.  I found it in a local sporting goods store & taped my knee last night.  Truthfully, I can't tell if it's helping.  :/  I would love to just lay on the couch but my 3 year old & 11 month old won't have that.

Do I wait it out or go see a doctor?  And what kind of doctor- just my regular one?

Ugh.  This stinks.

I would definately see a doctor first. I hope it's nothing serious and that you will be back to running

My insurance is so bad that I hardly EVER go to my doctor.  HUGE deductible.

If you CAN see a doctor, I would recommend it.  The knees are special things.  A number of people in my family have some sort of weakness in their knees that isn't evident at first.  Physical therapy fixed them all up, and they can use their knees well, one dances and climbs mountains and is the one wanting to do a marathon in 6 months from now, another family member with supposedly bad knees is a long-distance runner, another does tai chi and square dancing, I don't know what the other one does, she lives far from here.  But yah, see the doctor and ask questions and ask about PT (physical therapy) to strengthen them if there is something wrong.  My family has something wrong with the groove in there.  I have no idea what that means. So far so good for my knees, although one is acting up just a little.

I'm so proud of you for starting out strong when you have little kids!  I'm so sorry you got hurt.  Let us know how this turns out.

    Good Old Gal
