just wanting to post the details of the last race and to hear others details on their races...

Run for the Bridges Youth 5K, ran through urban springfield where we had to do 2 loops, the weather was windy and cool enough to have layers, the loop finished going up hill all the way to the finish line and still did 26:34, so i pleased

It was my first 5K and was windy and cool. Not too hilly until the end and it looked like a mountain. It was also my first time to run 3 miles without having to stop to walk. Not a terrific time but 37.32.

Way to go in getting another race completed.  It seems that you have run in either hills or weather, or both, in your races.  Think of it as building character, all of these challenges in your races.  it will make the race on a flat course that much more satisfying.  Also you will be in some races where there are a lot of good runners - I entered a 5K last year where there wee quite a few runners who finished in under 15 minutes, while it was my first sub-30 minute 5K.  Keep up the good work and keep posting those race times and your stories along with it.

    Re: race results

Congrats on your results on back to back races.  I have only done one of those so far, a 10K on the Saturday and a 5K on the Sunday, and this was at the end of March.  The 10K was my first ever and it was hilly especially at the end.  Set a window of 62 to 67 minutes to complete the 10K and did it in under 61 which made me feel good.  In the 5K I was hoping for under 28, which would have been a PR and I did it in 27:19.  So that weekend was very good for me, as I too did not feel that my Sunday race did not feel as if I had run a race on Saturday.  Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your results.  I am doing a 12 mile training run in a couple of Saturdays and follow that up with a 5K on Sunday.  It's on a flat course so I am hoping to get a PR there but we'll see how I feel after the 12 miler.

Ran in the Run Forest! Run! 5K this past weekend.  It was a fund raiser for Relay for Life.  I finished in 27:18, still breaking PR everytime I run.  Can't wait to run another one.
