Being healthy is not something you do 3 days a week or 4 months a year, it’s a lifestyle that involves making good daily eating decisions and being active. Some people focus entirely too much on the grand scheme of things, worrying about how long they have to work out or what needs to be done to each their goals. In the amount of time it took to worry about starting an exercise routine, they could be done with their physical activity for the day!
Set a requirement of doing something active 1 time per day. Try not to worry about next week or next month, but instead focus on today. Every day doesn’t have to be intense and your current physical fitness situation and the goals you have will help determine what you should be doing every day. If you are just getting started, set simpler goals. Get some light weights and stretchy bands and do a light 20-minute routine, go for a walk, take a few laps up and down the stairs. Even if you can’t do much in a day, do something!
