Im a 7th grader and im 5,3 98 lbs and i play the 1 and 2 spot. I was pretty much the star of my rec team. I averaged 12 points 5 assists 3boards 1 steal and 1 block. I can shoot pretty well and can handle well. I drive the ball really well and have Ok vision. Am i good enough for AAU? And if so, how do you get on an AAU team? please answer
Yeah i hate to loose my team was 18 and 2 this year and i always take it to the defense im not a ballhog bc i allways played on a team with a ballhog and hated the feeling but when i feel i need to i try to drive
For you guys out there that want to know whether you are good enough to play AAU-- The question is what do you want to get out of it? (College exposure, improve skills, practice, or just get minutes) Different AAU organizations focus on different things. There are highly competitive teams that travel the country and attend premier tournaments while other teams stay local and aren't as competitive. After you figure that out start asking friends or coaches in the area of AAU teams because now is the time to get on a team while in 7th-8th grade because once high school starts it will be harder to find a team because most teams will be established and have been playing together. Hope this helps and good luck to you.
