I'm interested in doing the Swim Across the Sound but I don't have the confidence to do it myself... this year anyway. It's 25K, or 9 miles. I have to send the application and a portion of the fee in by April 27, 2005.
The Swim itself is August 5, 2006. It starts at Port Jeff, Long Island, New York and we swim to Captain's Cove in Bridgeport, CT. More information is available at www.swimacrossthesound.org. The "fee" or raised funds include dinner, transportation, and all safety requirements including a boat that accompanies your swim.
All people interested please let me know ASAP. A relay team is 4 to 6 people. We rotate swimmers every 15 to 30 minutes. I will also try to keep this message updated.
I believe the race is 25K, which is just over 15 miles, not 9.

Thanks Jenny- I'm not good at metric conversions. Are you interested in swimming or just commenting on my math? -J
Just commenting... Personally, I'm sure I will have another race that weekend, Wilkes Barre Tri, probably.
I know plenty of swimmers from the area, so I may be able to find you a teammate or two. It's tough considering the amount of money they would have to pay to compete. If you haven't filled your team in a few months, I'll see what I can do for you.
