Hello There...

I just joined and would like to start running. I'm hoping to be able to run a half marathon by Jan. If you have any tips for me that would be amazing. I'm new to this but I'm hoping to do this forever....(:

    Hi, Have you thought about doing the c25k? that would be a start to your running!

    Welcome!  you have plenty of time to be ready for a late year half.  Just be patient and take it slow.  You want your progress to be slow and steady while you build a base of mileage.  Best of luck and keep us posted on your progress.

    Start with a program that seems interesting, many people here would recomment the C25K plan. Get a nice looking pair of shoes. Go Go Go.

    You have set a lofty goal for yourself, but it looks like you also are going about achieving it properly. Before you get to 13.1, you need to walk a little and run a little.  I wish you luck with the C25K and once you are done, go find a 5K to do so you can really appreciate your achievement.  Once that is done there is a program for 10K called B210K Bridge to 10K which helps you prepare to transition to 10Ks.  There are similar plans for the half marathon but one step at a time.  Again, god luck and come back here and keep us posted of your status as well as if you have any questions.
