S.W.E.A.T. is a meetup group for people who are serious about staying in shape and improving their fitness level. We will have a variety of workouts, both indoors and outside. Workouts will be first thing in the morning, midmornings, afternoons, and evenings all around the Seattle-Tacoma area. Many meetups will be dog-friendly. We love our dogs!
This group is for beginner exercisers who really (and we mean REALLY) want to push their limits, for intermediate exercisers to kick it up a notch, and for advanced exercisers who want to stay challenged and keep others motivated.
Here are some of the things we are picturing for the group:
Our hikes will be fast-paced and with minimal down time. Be prepared to sweat. Want to take pictures, stop for a snack, or admire the scenery? Then, our hikes might not be for you.
Do you belong to a gym? Let us know which one, what workouts you enjoy, and SWEAT might find you a fellow gym rat to meetup with. It's all about staying motivated.
Maybe you're looking to start a team - football, soccer, softball - whatever. Or, maybe you're part of a team needing another player or two. Post your next activity to the calendar, start a discussion, or keep an eye out for a member who might be a good match for your sport.
We will incorporate a variety of other workouts, such as "doing the stairs" at Stadium High School in Tacoma, bike rides, and community organized races.
Ideas, Ideas, Ideas
That's just the start. Ideas are welcome and members are encouraged to post their own workouts to the calendar to share with, and encourage, everyone. Feel free to set goals, create challenges for each other, share ideas, recipes, tips, what works, (and what doesn't - grr!). . . . .
We're not drill sergeants, trainers, professionals, or motivational speakers. We want to help people commit to their workouts, but not have to chaperone them during the workouts. We want to provide motivation, an opportunity to find similar people who enjoy a tough workout, and we want to stay motivated, ourselves. We like challenging, no nonsense workouts that we can enjoy and that push our limits, break plateaus, and keep us sweating!
