Hey Runners! Tomorrow is National Running Day and I'm curious to know how all of you are planning to commemorate what should be a religious holiday. My plans are to get in at least 3 miles tomorrow. I have an early morning meeting, but I'm going to try and hit the pavement in the morning. May have to get up a lot earlier than usual, but it shouldn't be too bad. It's gonna be about 93 degrees in Atlanta tomorrow, so I definitely want to run before the heat kicks up.
What are your plans? Inquiring minds want to know.
Happy National Running Day, everyone!
I celebrated National Running Day just a bit early, on Monday, 5/30. I raced the Fiesta Days 10K in La Canada, CA. This is the 21st year in a row that I've done this race! (they have both a 5K and a 10K; I've done both over the years). Weather was excellent - high 50's, clear and dry. The course is fairly challenging - rolling hills, with a downhill start and an uphill finish. Finished in 50'50" - that's clock time, they don't do chip timing - beat 51 min (YES) and took 3rd place in age group (Party Time).

I'd love to run, however with a knee injury from a recent fall that is now infected I'll be setting this one out.

Congratulations, Carol. I'm running a 10K this Saturday and hoping for a PR with less than an hour. My best 10K time is 01:00:17. It could be 59:59 and I'd be happy. lol Happy National Running Day!
Didn't get up early enough to get a run in, so I guess I'll be heading out in the heat this afternoon. I feel like I have to run today to celebrate this "holiday" that I never even knew existed. Oh well, I'm a runner.
Sorry to hear that, KGB. Best wishes for a swift recovery.

Just my Wed run with the running group I think lots of 300 with a 100 jog between.
I'm so lame. Today is my rest day. But I'll be thinking of you guys out there running today on National Running Day!!! I'm on another social messageboard. I have a nutrition and health thread over there so I shared some running tips and some other little fun info about running and road racing.
I guess I did my part. HAPPY NATIONAL RUNNING DAY!

I'm getting over what I believe is strept and haven't run for the past three days, but I'm determined to get out there today, mostly because it's National Running Day, but also partly because I'm hoping to run my first race (a short 2 miler) this weekend! I'll run anywhere from 2 miles to 3.6 miles today, depending on how good I feel once I start running...especially since my only time to run is at 3:00 in the afternoon and it's supposed to get up to a toasty 97 today!!!

Don't forget you save a few $ if you register for a Rock n Roll marathon today to celebrate National Running Day. I think I'm going to sign up for the one in LA.
We had 92 this afternoon in Dahlonega, so it was more comfortable than Atlanta, but still only got in 3 miles. It was a little something to celebrate anyway!
Hey Running, we're both crazy because I just came in from a run in 92 degrees as well. I couldn't get out this morning so I tried to wait until it got a little cooler. So much for that, considering it's 9:30 and still 90 degrees. I was sweatin bullets, but I had to do it for Nat'l Running Day. lol It was great!
Ran six miles this evening after it cooled down and tried out the new Amphipod water bottle. Happy National Running Day everyone!!!! Hopefully there will be many more for alll of us!!!!
