Running the course to train



I'm running in the Baltimore Half Marathon in October and I see that the running organization that's hosting it is also hosting group runs along certain parts of the full marathon course.


What's your take on running the course before the race? Do you like the "surprise" of not knowing what lies ahead or would you rather rehearse it like a performance with no surprises? Any advice with doing this?


I tend to run ANYWHERE in MD. I run in different counties, neighborhoods, in and around the city, so I'm sure that I'll probably cover about 35-45% of the course at some point but in an unorganized way.
