Little Flyers AJHL Junior Tryout Camp - July 18th & 20th

Philadelphia Little Flyers Junior A JULY TRYOUT CAMP


The Philadelphia Little Flyers Junior coaching staff would like to invite players birth year '91-'95 to an open tryout on Monday July 18th and Wednesday July 20th at Ice Works, Aston, Pa.


Both the Junior A and B teams are considering players for a limited number of positions on their respective teams as well as the Chowder Cup team which will attend the Senior Chowder Cup Tournament July 20-24th.

Contact the Little Flyers Junior Hockey Staff with any questions and to register your spot at the open tryout.


Each session will be limited to 30 skaters and 4 goalies on a first come first serve basis


Junior A Head Coach

Steve Washkalavitch


Bio:  Coach Washko is a product of Neumann University (ncaa d3, 2009 NCAA National Champions) where he was a varsity letterman and later returned as assistant coach.  He returns to the Little Flyers for his second season as Jr A Head Coach after a successful first season yielding a trip to the Atlantic Junior Hockey League Final Four.  Coach Washko was named to the AJHL South Allstar Team Coaching Staff along with 4 player nominations three of which were rookies.  His 2010/11 team boasted 3 players in the top 12 in league scoring including defenseman Doug Rose who lead the league in goals amongst Dmen with 11 and Michael Davis who was named the 2011 AJHL Rookie of the Year.  Each of these players were rewarded for their efforts as Michael Davis was drafted 3rd overall by the Amarillo Bulls in the 2011 NAHL Draft; and Doug Rose who signed a Tender to play with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs (2011 NAHL/USA National Champions).


Junior B Head Coach

Jeff Barratt



Coach Barratt joins the Little Flyers for his first season as Jr B Head Coach.  Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Junior program.  His playing experience includes 4 years of major junior in the QMJHL where he spent his final season with the Laval Voisins and teammate Mario Lemieux before moving onto the IHL and 8 more seasons playing professionally in Europe.  Previously Coach Barratt served as program director and hockey coach of the Mercer Chiefs and currently serves as special advisor and scout for the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders of the USHL (Tier 1 Jr A).
