Every other 5K run is painful in my hips and back, especially the hips. It takes days to recover. I'm thinking of leaving the triathlon family. Are there proper stretches to consider? Help!
I started by running the Carpinteria two years ago. Last year I ran two triathlons (both sprints). The pain just started about two months ago every other training run. The pain is mostly in my hip flexors. I'm 53. Thanks. Pat
Scour your mind.....are you doing anything differently? It could be that you may require more stretching due to age. I know I need more now than ever before. Are you warming up and stretching before competing?
I've changed my desk and now I believe the ergonomic positions aren't correct. Never stretched before a race. Always after or at the gym after my workouts. Do you have any recommendations for stretches before a race?
