I did a long 10K (~6.4 miles) in Montrose PA on the 4th and had my highest placing ever at 115th place. My best before this was 1074th in the '10 Carlbad marathon. A big improvement except there where 1197 finishers at Carlsbad and 118 in Montrose. The 3 people I beat were all younger, one 29 years younger. I did get to experince what the winner sees as for the last block to the finish line there was no one in front of me. (The 114 finisher was a minute faster than I was.) I did win the race walking division as I was the only walker.
You have to get your victorys where ever you can!
Congratulations on winning the racewalking, Steve! I have just recently started walking and today's 4.5 miles is the most I have done in one day so far. Keep up the good work!
