Well On my aau Team. Im there main 3point shooter. Ive been a shooter for a while. I can create my own shot but I usually catch and shoot.
I don't do so well on the percentages. I take to many 3's and only 1-5 go in. With a tournament coming up, I need to be a threat from the outside this weekend. Im not saying Make me a better shooter in one weak. Im just saying Give me some drills that i can do.. I am willing to put in alot of effort. Thanks
have a 3 point shootout with yourself. it's fun easy and simple. also shoot about 50 a day. it might not help your percentage but you'll make more. also if you can have a defender with you, have him play d on you so you can create your own shots and get better at it that way.

When you catch the ball make sure your knees are bent, and your feet are shoulder's length apart. Also, make sure your hands are ready for the ball. When you shoot the ball, jump straight up and down without leaning to the front/back/left/right.
Thanks. I ussualy Rush my shot when I do a catch and shoot.. but im going to take my time.. and if the defender catches up.. I guess I have to use some moves and take it to the hole.
I had a similar problem last summer. i used to shoot 30% from beyond the arc so last summer I shot 150 threes a day and my percentage is now 45 to 50%. Just keep on practicing and put yourself in in-game situations to practice. It also really helps if you have a rebounder for you who can also pass since you can catch and shoot
this is my favorite spot up shooting drill: start in the left corner and shoot threes until u swish 1. then go 2 the left angle and again shoot untill u swish 1. repeat at top of the key right angle and corner. sounds simple but when u start putting preasure on urself it gets real hard. and also just make sure u always shoot wiht the same form and use ur legs.
