Back in the saddle

Well, I just finished W1D1 of the Couch to 5k. I am running in a 5k in September to benefit the survivors of the Massachusetts tornadoes. It's a cause near and dear to my heart. It was not a fun workout, but I got thought it. I used to run in college, but life got in the way. Now I am way heavier and slower than I used to be. Will this program get me back to where I was? I need some encouragement here...
