I started on a run/walk training plan from a book I'm reading. Walked 2 1/2 laps around the high school track and ran another 1/2 lap. Fully starting on the plan on Sun. 7/24. Anyone else just getting started?
I'm just thinking about it and Im tired...planning of fully getting engaged on program this weekend too
I was tired too. Just decided it was time to get up and do it. Feeling pretty good about it. Hope you get up and do it too
I started in May, what ever plan you have, just stick to it at least for the first few weeks. It took me almost a month I think to really start to get it. The best advice I got was to "slow down". Trust me on that one.
I am just getting started myself. One of the best pieces of advice I have gotten was to sign up for a 5K (just one that isn't too soon). Paying the registration fee help adds a bit of commitment to the process and a goal for training towards. My first 5K is 50 days away, and my first official training run was this morning... I know I am going to feel it tomorrow, but today I am feeling pretty good about it.
The plan that I'm on will have me ready to run a 5K in 18 weeks. Unfortunately, that is the middle of winter. I will be signing up for the first 5K in the spring. Ran this morning. Still feeling good about it.
