On Saturday, September 10, 2011 Irvine Lake Mud Run returns to Oak Canyon Park with the first-ever “Reality Mud Run”. Stars from CBS’s hit reality series Survivor, The Amazing Race and Big Brother will participate in Southern California’s most scenic and challenging mud run alongside the general public to raise funds for cancer research through Survivor’s Stand Up to Cancer fundraising team.
Reality personalities participating in the race include Survivor’s Ethan Zohn, Jenna Morasca, Amanda Kimmel, Burton Roberts, Yau-Man Chan, Natalie Tenerlli, Phillip Sheppard, Chad Crittenden, and Joel Klug; The Amazing Race’s Uchenna Agu, Megan Rickey, Cheynne Whitney, Alex Boylan and Dennis Frentsos; and Big Brother’s Will Kirby and many more.
For this special run, Irvine Lake Mud Run has partnered with CBS and Around the World Productions, founded by Burton Roberts of Survivor: Pearl Islands, and Alex Boylan of the second season of The Amazing Race. “It’s very rewarding to be able to use reality television as a platform to bring together my friends and raise money and awareness for cancer research. The Reality Mud Run is a perfect event to bring together cast members and reality fans to do just that!” commented Zohn.
The Reality Mud Run features a brand new 5k course with unique scenic views of Irvine Lake and even more mud than any other race prior. Registration is $69 for individuals, $276 for 4 person teams and $269 for open sized teams. Gates open at 6:30 a.m. with morning waves beginning at 8 a.m. and afternoon waves at 1:30 p.m. As with all Irvine Lake Mud Runs, participants will enjoy live music, great food vendors, a beer garden, and the action sports and eco fair booths.
