I'm training for the NYC Marathon, running around 40-50 miles per week over the past couple of months. Similar to my training last year, I took a family vacation in August, and during that week, my mileage was very low! In fact, that week, I only ran twice for a total of 16 miles! Granted I was also impacted by Hurricane Irene over the weekend, otherwise, I probably could have doubled my mileage. With 10 weeks to go, I think this helps rejuvenate the body, and minimizes injury. Coming off vacation, I will resume with the original plan.
