With just less than 8 weeks to go, I've been thinking about my goals for the NYC Marathon.
Here they are:
1. Arrive at the start line healthy to run
2. Have fun during the race
3. Finish under 3 hours
What are your goals?
Good list, and I would have to agree with it. Although #2 might have to wait till after the race if #3 happens. I know it's there somewhere, but I don't think I have the fitness where I need it yet.
I like your goals! I also want 1 and 2. Since I'm not fast, my third goal is to finish before dinner time! I hope you all achieve your goals. Enjoy the last few weeks of training, NYC marathon will be here before you know it!
All of your goals are inspiring! I have only 1 goal at this time: GET TO THE MARATHON!
My ITBand has my training on a complete hold right now, so for me...the next 2 weeks will make or break me...and my goal is to be well enough prepared to do the race!

I attained two of the three goals. Despite not breaking the 3 hour mark, I am very happy with the finish time of 3:03:47. I can say that I went out and did my best, and also have a new PR by just over two minutes. Not bad for a beautiful Sunday!
Congratulations on your race Joe! What a great time...notwithstanding your three hour goal. You gotta be happy anyway.
And what a great day, eh? The crowd was fabulous every mile!
