Viewing the Marine Corp Marathon

Is there a convenient place on the Metro to view the start, go out over half way, and return for the finish of the Marine Corp Marathon?

Thanks.

Greg

The Washington DC metro is very convenient, but likely to be crowded on race day. You can take the blue line from Arlington over to the Mall area. The Smithsonian exit is a popular place to view runners at roughly mid-way.

You can also continue over to Crystal City which is another place to see runners close up.

The finish line will have a lot of spectators. You might have better luck finding a spot around mile 25 getting close to the runners.

Good luck and enjoy your visit.

The MCM's web page, if it has done so yet, will post a spectator's guide to viewing the race.

The 1/2 way part is kind of hard to get to since it's in the middle of Haines Point and you kind of have to know the area to get there.  It's also devoid of spectators since it's not in an easily accessible location.  Your family can be on the National Mall.  They can see you run up one way, walk across the mall, and see you come down the other.  There will be plenty of time for them to get back on the metro and greet you at the finish.  The Mall should be around miles 16-20.

You family can come with you to the start area via Metro.   While you are making your way to the corrals they can go find a spot after the start line to view you.  It will be packed with spectators.
