ASEA Athlete James Lawrence Sets Ironman 70.3 Record!
At the outset of 2010 James Lawrence, ASEA user and Triathaloner, set out to break the world record for number of Half Ironman Triathalons (called "Ironman 70.3") in a single year. He learned that the former record was 16 and that Guiness World Record would only be interested in a new record of 20 or higher.
An Ironman 70.3 consists of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride, followed by a 13.1 mile run. This meant that James would need to complete one of these every two and half weeks to reach the 20 mark!
James not only reached his goal but he went beyond the 20 and completed 22 Ironman 70.3 races! He did this in 30 weeks averaging one race every nine and a half days.
James said "ASEA was definitely instrumental in my recovery giving me every advantage I needed to break this record. I was scared to go off it while attempting this quest!"
