I can't run without good, upbeat music, but I'm getting tired of the same predictable playlist, so I need to change it up. What are your favorite tunes to run by? I listed my whole playlist, so feel free to take what you like. Just leave me some recs to add to mine, too. Thanks!
My absolute 2 favorite starter songs are both by Eminem....Lose Yourself and Not afraid.
I also listen to Christian Music (I know right...night and day from eminem) so I have a few really upbeat and uplifting songs that I throw in at the beginning....Revive us! by Annointed...I will not go quietly by Steven Curtis Chapman....

You should try running to some good drum&bass. That ought to pick up your pace.
or Youtube or FB or Google: Klute or High Contrast.
Also try [artist] Meat Beat Manifesto- solid beats and rhythmns. (not really drum and bass)
That's my ubber long playlist of running music. All the music is linked to the youtube version, so you can check it out before you buy.
Find me at Feet Dominating Pavement... remember we have Runner's Bloghops on Fridays!
I just did 2 posts about my favorite running songs. One is country and the other is pretty general. At the begining of a race my favorite song to listen to going out is Linkin Park's Bleed It Out
Enjoy and good luck making your playlist!
When I run it's usually at least for an hour. So I tend to gravitate towards longer songs as it makes legs of the run feel like one smooth motion at a time. Too many 4-minute pop songs make me too concetrated on changes in songs if it's on shuffle, or changes in tempo. I don't listen to a lot of Dave Matthews Band anymore but I've found that live versions of their songs tend to be great for that as they hover at durations of 10-15 minutes. It is also enriching for the mind to focus on less and delve into one piece, rather than listen to "pump-up" songs. Runners should float, not punch.
