Sponsors Help Reduce Camper Cost $99! Softball SuperClinic featuring Jessica Mendoza and Natasha Watley

Local area softball players will get a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to learn the sport from Olympic Gold/Silver Medalists Jessica Mendoza (jmendoza.com) and Natasha Watley (natashawatley.com)  when they come to Philadelphia December 9-10 to teach two, daylong softball clinics at William Penn Charter School, located at 3000 West School House Lane in Philadelphia. They will be assisted at the clinics by coaches and volunteers from The University of Penn, Villanova, Drexel and Temple softball teams.

Plus, on Friday night, December 9, the two will present “The Jessica Mendoza and Natasha Watley Experience” from 7-9 pm at Colonial Elementary School, 230 Flourtown Road in Plymouth Meeting, PA. During this event, Ms. Mendoza and Ms. Watley will discuss their own experiences as young women athletes and the choices they made regarding sports, academics, and life that led them to the Olympics and now, to their professional sports careers. They will also answer questions from the audience. The Friday night event is open to the general public, and is free for clinic attendees accompanied by an adult. General admission price is $3 for adults and $2 for children under 13 years of age. A limited number of free tickets will be given away on the Lady Warriors Boost-Her Club Facebook page. www.facebook.com/pages/Lady-Warriors-Boost-Her-Club

During the clinics, Ms. Mendoza and Ms. Watley will teach clinic campers basic to advanced fundamentals in hitting, short game (slapping and bunting) base running, outfield and infield, as well as strength and agility training, and nutrition. Plus, each player will get a personal photo and autograph session with the two Olympic champions. The cost per camper is $99.

Both women are great motivational speakers, mentors and role models for youth, and use the clinics they conduct around the country to not only teach softball skills, but talk to young girls about self-confidence, leadership skills and the best ways to visualize success as an athlete.

Jonas Goldstein, President of the Lady Warriors Boost-Her Club, said his organization is very excited to have such accomplished, internationally known athletes coming to Philadelphia to teach young girls in grades 5-12 softball and life skills.

“Jessica and Natasha’s enthusiasm for empowering young women and for fostering their leadership abilities through team sports and personal fitness is such a positive message,” Goldstein said. “This is an amazing opportunity for local softball players to meet and learn from true Olympic superstars.”
