I'm in a bit of a quandry here... virtually ALL training plans incorporate "hilly workouts" into them. The 10k plan offered here does as well. I live in South Florida and there are NO hills to be found. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to modify the workouts for this situation? I am a fairly new runner, so please pardon my ignorance! Thanks in advance for all help!
How about parking garages?
Head over to the coast and run hill repeats on the bridges that connect to the barrier islands. I live near Orlando and we like to run the bridges in Daytona and Ormond Beach. It's a bit of a drive but being able to take a dip in the ocean afterward is good for the sole
Any bridge will do, it doesn't need to be that long of an incline.
Or substitute speed workouts instead like 400 or 800 meter intervals.

+1 to rbird's post... if there's a parking garage or stadium that you have access to, running up those will simulate a hill perfectly.
Like rbird mentioned, speed workouts on a track are great substitutes for hill training, too--their purpose is almost exactly the same (building leg strength to make you faster, while working in your anaerobic heart rate zone).
