Club Fat Ass is inviting runners in Dallas and Fort Worth to join in the fun:

Club Fat Ass is a worldwide community of endurance sports junkies and other active, outgoing adults who like to play outside. The Club, through it's website at www.ClubFatAss.com,[/URL" target="_blank"> promotes cheap and cheerful endurance sports events and a healthy, outdoor lifestyle.

The Club helps members host sports 'parties' for other members. CFA events are environmentally-friendly, socially conscious and reflect the personalities and priorities of the particular Event Host.

All Club Fat Ass events are free to members. Membership in the Club is a nominal $15 for a day (individual event) or $35 for a calendar year (as many events as you want.) Annual membership includes a distinctive and provocative Club Fat Ass t-shirt.

Club Fat Ass events are generally small, loosely organized, and structured in a way that allows the Event Host to participate and enjoy their own party. The origins of the Club come from ultramarathon trail running. While some Club events are oriented to the type of "experienced" athlete who
might be able to run 100-miles on a single water bottle, most appeal to anyone who can comfortably tough it out for 90 minutes or more of biking, swimming or running.

Anyone running Too Hot To Handle at White Rock Lake on Saturday, July 24?  There's 5k and 15k, and I'm planning to run the 15k as a tune-up for the Fort Worth Runners' Labor Day 15k.

So far this summer my Saturday morning long runs have been fairly comfortable up til around 10:00AM--of course it's been unseasonably rainy and cool thus far.  (Yeah, yeah, I know - 85F+ degrees hardly qualifies as "cool;" but it's better than the 100F+ which is not uncommon in Texas this time of year.)

Strangely enough Ray, I saw your entry form over at RunOn the other day, and thought maybe you DO exist! 

I'll be doing the Hot Tamale that day, although I'd much prefer to run the 15k. Have fun!
