"The Runner." It's in Arlington on Pioneer Parkway at Bowen (or maybe Pioneer at Smith-Barry, on the west side of Arlington at any rate, near Pantego). Otherwise, in Fort Worth check out Luke's Locker on University Drive, RunOn on South Hulen, or Fort Worth Running Company just off Camp Bowie in Ridglea.

Well, we're getting closer then. At this rate maybe we'll actually meet by 2005.

So far this summer my Saturday morning long runs have been fairly comfortable up til around 10:00AM--of course it's been unseasonably rainy and cool thus far. (Yeah, yeah, I know - 85F+ degrees hardly qualifies as "cool;" but it's better than the 100F+ which is not uncommon in Texas this time of year.)

Hi. I'm coming from out of state to run the 2H2H 15K. Do you happen to know what the course is like?
Thanks

As far as I know it goes around White Rock Lake, which has a paved trail--concrete mostly, though I think there is some asphalt. Possibly it also goes onto some neighborhood streets with "rolling" inclines but not what you would call "hills" exactly. Actually I haven't seen a map of the course, but if you go to www.runontexas.com[/URL" target="_blank"> and click on their events calendar you'll get a link that might tell you.

See ya there!

The lake is 9 miles around so the course won't go into the neighborhoods much. There are 2 hills I can remember, the ramp onto Mockingbird at the north end (somewhere around the 3 mile marker), and the one onto the dam at the south end, between 7 and 8 IIRC.

Should be fun. Good luck, all!

--

Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Runners where are you?????

NEWSFLASH!!!!!

My existence has been confirmed as of 6:54pm CDT July 22, 2004, which was when I went into the RunOn store on South Hulen in FW to pick up my packet for 2H2H and saw Kattzoo working there.

What a sweetheart! (And quite a shoe salesman too, apparently.)

Anyway, now she knows I exist. !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|border=0!

Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Runners where are you?????

Hi all, I just moved here from Louisiana to the Dallas area. Anyway, I ran for a small college in Louisiana and I am interested in some running clubs or groups to train with. I found some on the Run On Texas web-site. Does anybody know anything about the training groups and social runs? Also, I saw a lot of pictures of runners in Run-On singlets, are they part of a team?

Any info on this would be great!!
Thanks,
Stephanie

I work for the Run On in Fort Worth (and train there). If you're in Dallas, I'd call the store closest to you regarding their social runs. Ours is Wed. at 6pm, and we usually have 20 runners of various paces. It's a ton of fun. (although HOT right now)

Training for White Rock marathon just started last week, and the classes for the Feb. marathons will start in Oct. I believe.

Run On has a running team, which is the folks with singlets. Check at your store. It's free, you get a discount, uniform, and tons of friends. There are no ability or time requirements. (otherwise, I wouldn't be on it)

Welcome to TX! Hope to see you at the races soon (in a Run On singlet )

Kathleen
