When we video tape at the start of the lesson we will watch for where the hands start, and track the path of the hands as they swing ( if they cast, loop down, raise above to high, etc...) And we see if they have bat lag ( bat dragging to far behind their swing )We look for the power L at contact, We see if they are going to full extension.

(Bat pointing at pitcher) We look for palm up, palm down during the swing.

We look for premature wrist roll before or right after contact.

These are things that are hard to see at full speed.

So the video is for the Student and the parent to recognize the flaws in the swing so we can correct them.

It has been the most helpful part of my teaching the Students, helping them understand what we are trying to tell them.
