Starting Couch to 5K

Hey everybody I am starting couch to 5K tonight actually, it's a redo for me as I got an awful chest cold and have had to restart. I would love to connect with others doing the program. Is anybody starting up soon? Have you run before? I've also started a blog to track my progress. I hope it works!

    Hi Todd.

I just completed my first session today - W1D1.  Using the treadmill program and think I will have to play around with the speeds a bit.  Distance was 1.73 miles in the 30 minutes.

    Enjoy your first run!

    Starting Couch to 5K

I started yesterday the 21st as well for my third time.  I'm back here as well to keep motivated.  I decided this time I may repeat some weeks so that I enjoy it more and am not in the mindset to "just get through it" and then I stop.  I want to LOVE it this time!

I'm starting C25K tomorrow, with hopes that I can do the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC at the end of March. Its a 10k but I'd like to run half of it and walk the rest. That's my goal for it at least

I hope you guys all started out strong! I'm pretty excited about this!

I'm returning after completing the programme last summer but quitting after I broke my foot! I'm ashamed that I didn't get right back into it as soon as my injury healed but I waited, lost my fitness, and now I'm really starting from the beginning. Last time, I found it really helpful to have a community like this. I haven't started yet... but my first run will be this week.

Completed W1D2 last night.  Increased my distance to 1.87.  For those of you that have done this before, do you gradually increase your running speed as you get more comfortable?  I'm using the treadmill version and am walking at 3.7 and running at 4.1.  Thanks!

Hi, all. Newbie here and just (sort of) getting back into running.  I had knee surgery at the end of December 2010 and I just started sprint intervals for first time last week since surgery.  Started Couch to 5K 1/22/12 - forgot to mark my distance and speeds, but completed W1D2 today = 2.07 miles top speed 6.5 and 3.7-3.8 walk speed.  I felt pretty darned great and I am so excited to see everyone's progress here, as well as working towards possibly running my first ever race, albeit just a 5K, in about 8 weeks.  Lots of luck, everyone!! Keep going!

    Hey Everyone,

Congrats on your progress so far. I just did W1D1. It was pretty easy but I guess that's the point. I know it'll get hard, quickly. Looking forward to my next run!
