W2D2 C25k - 4.44km @ 6:30 min pace - anyone similar out there?

It would be nice to have a 'Virtual Training Buddy' to measure myself against, but there doesn't seem to be any way of searching C25k participants by Week and / or pace so I thought I'd just try putting a Shout Out!
Let me know if you'd like to compare notes.
Stevo.
Well thats plenty too fast for me, to cover 4.44km in 30 mins is an average(ish) pace of 9kph and with only 9 mins of running on W2D2 thats a lot further than I went at that stage.. Way to go !!
Almost 50 years young - was about 340lbs, now about 180 lbs and just started running for the first time in 28 years
Started the c25k dec 2011 and will move onto b210k once I have completed it
First 5k booked for 18th March 2012 - Malaga Spain
First 10k booked for May 27th 2012 - London UK
Thanks for the reply Bob, although now you're making me doubt the data my 5k app has given me! It seems really glitchy (one day it told me I had run 4.26km at 3:30 per km!)
Hmm. I'll maybe need to bring a stopwatch and a pencil and paper on my next run and just work it out the old fashioned way :-)
What stage are you at now?
You're still running faster than I can ever go. My PR for 5k is 34 minutes.
If you have a smart phone, try the Google My Tracks app. It's free and has really neat features.
Thanks! I'll check that out (and I won't be at all surprised if my time isn't as good as I've been thinking it is! ;-)
OK - can someone check my maths??
Today's Walk / Run took 30 mins including the 5 min warm up & 5 min warm down and I covered 4.2km = 7:30 / km pace overall.
If I take off the Warm up & Warm down sectors (using Google maps), I covered 3km in 20 mins = 6:40 / km pace
That 20 mins was a mix of Walking and Running. From the Warm up and Warm down sectors I know that my walking pace is approx 10:00 / km so 11 min of Walking = 1.1 km, therefore (stick with me here! ;-) my 9 mins of running covered 1.9km = 4:45 pace
Can anyone confirm this or tell me where I've gone wrong?
*bump*
I read it a little different...
5 mins warm up @ 7.2 kph = 0.6km
11 mins walk @ 7.2 kph = 1.32km
9 mins run @ 11.2 kph = 1.68km
5 mins cool down @ 7.2 kph = 0.6km
total time 5+11+9+5 = 30 mins
total distance 0.6+1.32+1.68+0.6 = 4.2km
Its still pretty fast though.. I am at week six and just about cover as much ground as you did in week 2.. My walk is 6kph and my run is 10kph so either (a) you are quick or (b) your time/distances are off ..
Cheers and keep it up..

Thanks for that Bob!
I was doing W3D1 on Saturday and I think gave myself a slight calf tear (like this) so I've probably been going too fast - assuming I'd still be able to run like I could when I was a teenager ![]()
I'll have to take a week or so off now, and then take it easier when I get back.
