MamaM – Glad you made it through! I know you are so proud of yourself, and you should be!!
We are glad to add you to our running buddies! Go ahead and give that victory dance a try now...we won't look!!
HPJ! Wow, congrats! Doesn’t it feel amazing to be able to say you did that? I’m not giving any consideration to pace at all right now. As a matter of fact, when Hubby tries to run with me, he finds it painful that I go so slow! Sounds like you did a really good job of managing! The goal right now is just to get there – not necessarily to get there first! Glad you are keeping tabs on everyone.
Bunzi – I had the same experience you did with W6D1. Sorry I can’t help with your personal question – I bet you could find something on the forum in another thread, though.
Flip – Tomorrow is your big day! I know you are going to do really well!! Glad you didn’t have a problem with nausea again! Maybe it was just a fluke! Thanks for your continued support to everyone! When you finish that 20 minutes, throw your hands up in the air and celebrate for a second (like I did, right in the road!!)
Hope you did well on your tests!
dd64 – so glad to see you checking in. We all wish you the best and will be here to cheer you on when you get back to running! I don’t have any neighbors gawking at me, but the cows were giving me some really funny looks yesterday
Hi Roses – Hope you don’t have an issue with dehydration – I don’t want to come off like I think I know everything (I DON’T) – but I have read a lot and like to share if I think it will be helpful. When you are hydrating for a run, (I think of any duration), you should hydrate all throughout the day (or the week leading up to a big run). They say not to drink a lot right before you run, but to do it all along the way. Not being properly hydrated can cause all types of problems for runners, so it’s a big issue. I have been drinking 64 ounces of water a day for a long time, so I feel I’m doing okay in that area. Of course, the heat could be an issue, too. Hope you you’ll feel better on your next outing
What's up with me: I did W6D2 yesterday. It wasn’t my best experience. I made the mistake of putting ankle length leggings on under my shorts (why did I do that?) and I thought I would melt! Then, I realized I forgot my heart rate monitor. Also, I had my hair in braids, which drove me crazy flopping around. I usually have it in a ponytail under a hat. Hubby had wanted to go out to eat before going home, and that didn’t help. Mexican food. Go run. WTH? I didn’t get sick, but just felt generally out of sorts. But, the important thing is that I did it. Two ten minute runs with a three minute rest. I kept thinking if I stopped no one would really think badly of me, but then I realized I just couldn’t come here and say I hadn't done it, so I finished strong!
Thanks everyone for continuing to be an encouragement!! No, go out there and run for your life!!
