Congrats to the Jr Blue Hens with their bid to Nationals at 16AA by defeating the Ducks this past weekend in a best of 3 playoff. And good luck to the Ducks 12AA and 14AA teams in accepting their bid to play in Nationals later this month.
Duxx, you say 12AA and 14AA .Ducks 18AA goes to Nationals too! Also I noticed that DMA won the Delaware high school league and the Flyers cup started this week but DMA is not in it. AI Dupont won the Delaware final last year and played in the Flyers cup. DMA should be playing in the Flyers cup this week?
Ducks 18AA is not going to nationals this year
Oh, I thought that was an automatic bid and they go no matter what.
The schedule is out for the Nationals tournament next week and looks like the u14 Ducks have a tough go in their bracket of 1A. At least get 4 play-in games this year, unlike the 3 last year at Bantam. Receive a little more for the money being spent, for the 4 or 5 nights at the tournament. Good luck Coach C
Odd, how can anyone say that's a tought bracket. A couple teams ranked below them and another not even ranked playing in 1a .And why is any team going to Nationals with a league record below .500. This Nationals tournament really has to be re-examined and changed to be earned at all levels or add more teams at Districts or just go back to the old system. Good luck to all the teams that earned the right to Nationals from the Atlantic District, Tier 1 and Tier 2
Nationals over for Ducks12AA,14AA and Hens 16AA. Ducks ran into soe top teams and Hens edged out in OT from going to finals. Still must have been a good experience for all involved even though alot of money spent by the families. Congratulations to the 3 Delaware teams!
How can the statement be made that top teams were at Nationals in 1a when with 1a age groups most teams there had an automatic bid or only had to play a best of three to advance and two of the Delaware teams had records below .500 in their league. This format should be looked into and changed or Delaware moved to 2a where MD and Va play. Not just eliminationg Nationals at the 12U level but possibly removing the automatic bid from the states that don't have AA (A teams playing in 12u and 14u) or the number of registrations where that cutoff takes place to divide the states. Especially when Delaware teams are playing league games vs 3A competition during the year.
