The Blue Ridge Bicycle Club is proud to present one of the most scenic and challenging century rides in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Artie Levin Memorial Century Ride will be staged on an entirely new course this year, starting at the beautiful Fincastle Winery in Botetourt County and winding for 105 miles through neighboring Alleghany and Craig counties. Riders will encounter 8 rated climbs, and over 8700 feet of elevation gain along the way. Highlights of the ride include the 5 1/2 mile climb to the summit of Potts Mountain, and the leg crushing 23% gradient at the top of Caldwell Mountain.
For those not up for the full century, there will also be 65 and 32 mile ride options to choose from. The 65 mile route still provides plenty of challenge, with over 5000 feet of elevation gain, including the short but menacing Caldwell Mountain climb. The 32 mile route is perfect for those who prefer rolling hills to the high mountains, but this short ride is no walk in the park. Riders will encounter nearly 2000 feet of elevation gain as they traverse the scenic countryside of Botetourt County.
Starting times for the 3 rides will be staggered so that everyone arrives back at the finish in time for the post-ride festival. Riders and their families will enjoy authentic barbecue, live music, prize drawings, wine tasting, and more.
We look forward to riding with you at The Artie!
