    Re: the pact

My friends did it last year, they did the marathon training and finished it in excellent time.  If I train with them next year I will do it, and hopefully finish it, even though Id be a bandit but I dont really care. !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|border=0!

I'm with xc runner 05's thinking...despite the fact I'm a minnow in a big pond compared to some of you, I'm gonna try!...my main goal is to run a good marathon one day, but 13 years...well...I'll try!=)

    Re: the pact

Wow time is really going by fast, it seems like just yesterday we had 13 years left.

I can't wait, plan on running my first half next year. then onto the marathon.

    Re: the pact

ah yes, the half is indeed a fun distance. the only one i've done so far was to pace a slower friend, and even that took quite a toll on me. seems so innocent at first, but by the end you have aches and cramps in body parts that you didnt even know existed

i've heard the marathon is twice as much fun! (which would seem logical) so perhaps i shall try that next.

what you just said is the most insanely idiotic thing i have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything resembling a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having listened to you. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

    Re: the pact

Hmm some recent thinking and my current runner's high has led me to post here...
    100 miles ay?
    ...
What the hell, if my body lasts till 2015 and can do the distance, I'll try to be there...even though it probably means a long flight from Sydney!
I'm not yet up to my minnowish goals of fast funrunning, half and marathoning here, and we do have ONLY 12 years, but I'll give it a go=)
    Good on you people!!
    cheers,
    Mike
