Re: got any quotes??

Back again...  I remembered another.  _

"Anything the mind can concieve and believe it can acheive"

(I used to have a 50 page (at least) Word document of my quote collection but then the disk stuffed up and now they are all gone... ToT ...)

Re: got any quotes??

Here's a personal quote, I think it's in my sig too.

"Running is just a matter of training and kicking a certain degree of ass, depending on the level of ass kicking you took in that training."

From Raging Bull:

"Go get 'em champ.... I'm the boss, I'm the boss, I'm the boss, I'm the boss, I'm the boss, boss boss boss boss boss boss"

From Apocalypse Now
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning....smells like---victory"

not exactly for running directly, but its for competition

They have a word in the Finnish language called sisu, which basicly means guts.  It's the strongest word in the Finnish language.  You tell a Finn that he doesn't have sisu, that's like spitting in his face.

Re: got any quotes??

there may be people out there that can beat me but they are going to have to bleed to do it-pre...

i would like to work it so that it comes down to a pure guts race and if it does i am the only one who can win-pre...

kinda like a quate-- some one once asked pre what if you dont win and he siad thats impossible, why she aske, cause when i was young i found out something in the woods that i have that know one else does. what is that she asked he replied........i can endure more pain than anyone.......

something i came up with during my running and now my coaching year that i tell my kids........why go out there and just finish the race being all tired, when you can go out there and run a race likes its your last and in a result fell a good about being tired......not great but he just a little something

Re: got any quotes??

heres one we tried to get on r team shirts but r coach was a no go.
"If you cant beat us on the track, beat us off"

so instead we got:
"Upset begins with U"

and heres something else ive heard:
one of my friends asked me why i like running and how i can like running around a track. so i told him:
ive played soccer and scored goals, basketball and hit threes, baseball and made the diving catch, bowling and nailed the strike, golf and dropped a hole in one, and even football and dicked the guy out to score the touchdown....but there is nothing like collapsing across the finish line and just dropping to the ground with every inch of you hurting but knowing you just ran your ass of and you deserved every second of that pr and there is a good damn reason you just beat all those guys finishing behind you
