I am running my first half next weekend and I couldn't be more excited!! But, I don't really plan on running another one for a while, and I definately don't have the urge to train for a full marathon right now. I've been following a training schedule for the past 10 weeks and I don't know what to do after it is over. I would like to start working on speedwork after this half but I don't want to lose the mileage that I have worked so hard to build up. Any suggestions?
It sounds like you have been building up a great base to continue, so keeping a regular LR schedule would be a good idea. Also, consider entering some races at other distances (local 5k, 8k or 10k events are usually great for motivation and staying in tune with the running mode). You may also want to repeat some of the previous weeks in your current training schedule and add some variations as you feel comfortable.
There are a lot of great plans to consider with speedwork, so basically look at your options and find one that works best with your goals and available time. I eventually added the speed drills as a second routine (same day) to some of my shorter workouts, but (again) many formats are available, so the main thing is to keep the focus for consistency with running.
Best of luck for your first half...enjoy yourself...get into your own pace early and be proud of your accomplishment!
