The Dirt Devils Softball and Cubs Fastpitch put together a high school spring travel team together 2 years ago. We started this for the girls that either didn't want to play high school or didn't make the team due to high numbers trying out. We started with 15 girls the first year and grew it to 45 girls last year and had 3 teams. These teams traveled 2 times to the Quad Cities in Iowa to play in the tournaments and we played round robins every weekend. All 3 teams placed in the top 3 of the tournaments and all qualified for nationals, but of course we did not except any bids because we release all players to go back to their travel teams. All of the girls had a great time and improved their game tremendously. The teams will practice 2 times a week and compete in 2 or 3 tournaments and have round robins locally every weekend. We will also be looking for volunteer coaches to help out.

We will be having evaluations Sunday March 10th, 10am until 1pm at GenuWIN Sports Training located at 544 Anderson Dr. Romeoville IL. After the evaluations we will then form all of the teams equally and begin to play. You can go to www.jolietdirtdevils.com and click on Team Illinois and you can register there. This way it will give us an idea how many girls to expect. Last year we had girls playing that already had their college scholarships.
