Ran this race for the first time this year. Race was pretty well organized and run after being rescheduled due to the blizzard.
My one and only gripe is with the marking of the two routes (5M and 6K). The 5M route was marked with yellow arrows and the 6K route was marked with pink arrows. This was announced by the race announcer just seconds prior to the start of the race. But some of the slower runners who didn't start up near the front missed this announcement and weren't sure which way to go when they got to the first turn.
This could have been a non-issue if they simply had some signs with text on it that said "5 Mile Route" or "6K Route" or had a volunteer at that critical first turn which is the only place you could potentially get lost at. There were volunteers or police officers at some of the other turns but for some reason, nobody at the turn that mattered the most.
