Only race in the area that doesn't support local business. Does the money even go to said charity? We still have yet to find any documentation from last years donation. Advertised we could roll the trees, but they are gone. If it's 100 times better than last year, this race will still only get one star.
Wow. By far the worst race I've ran. I'm almost ashamed to be from Auburn after this one. Packet pickup was an embarrassment, late start, they RAN OUT OF WATER...not cool..., distances were off, I couldn't see any volunteers on the road (a car had to swerve out of the way and hit a mailbox), people got lost awards were a complete debacle. Whew. That is just the start. If you're thinking of running...find another race.
Very dangerous race! Most of the run was in open traffic. Unattended and empty water stations. Then after being dehydrated at the end of the race (even with a hydration belt). The race started late. The timing software had a glitch which resulted in delays and incorrect times. No food near the finish line. This was the absolute worst race. Would not recommend.
Horrible event. Lack of volunteers, lack of water, lack of overall organization. Oh, and you finish on the sideline...not crossing the actual 50 in the center of the field. It started with having the packet pick up line slowed by same day registration. (Hey, the half marathon starts in 5 min...shouldn't still be getting people signed in) Where were the corals for various races? After starting 10-15 min late, you got to dodge traffic at various uncontrolled intersections. How about that unmanned water station towards the end of the race with no water poured out or people to hand it out...WTH? Probably a good thing it wasn't hotter out or local hospitals would have been overrun with heatstroke/dehydration victims. Absolute chaos at the finish line. For a race to occur at a major university...you would hope to have more support and organization. Still waiting on results to post 3 days later. UNSAT. Would not recommend this race to anybody period.
