Sprout Watch Open Volleyball Tournament coming to Hilton Head

The Rider Sandal Big Shot VolleyballSeries, presented in Hilton Head by Sprout Watches, will return to Hilton Headon May 4-5. Teams from throughout the East Coast will compete as they warm upfor the 2013 summer season. Top male and female doubles teams will compete for$2,000 cash prizes plus a trip to the $8,000 Big Shot Championships September7-8 at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Tournament play will start at 9 amwith women’s finals scheduled for 6 pm Saturday and men’s finals 12 noon onSunday.. Admission is free for all spectators.

 

The tournaments are sanctioned byVolley America, the largest grass roots program in the US. Volley Americaoffers tournaments, clinics and leagues creating opportunities for players ofall levels to improve their game. The players in the Sprout Watches Hilton Headevent will earn seeding points for the SE Volley America Regionals to be heldin Myrtle Beach October 5-6.

 

Top S. Carolina players expected toplay in the Hilton Head tournament include Jake Elliott in the Men’s Divisionand his wife Adria Elliott in the Women’s Division.  Both have played on the Pro Beach VolleyballTour and are expected to have the inside track to win the trip to Atlantic City.Additional top players expected to compete include Florida players JD Christie(Tampa) and Kent Ammons (Jacksonville). Additional top female players includeLaura Togami (Charleston, SC)

 

Separate divisions will be held forplayers of intermediate and novice levels on Saturday and Sunday. The $60 entryfee entitles players to a full day of tournament play, an official Sprout WatchBig Shot Volleyball t-shirt, and a chance to win merchandise prizes fromtournament sponsors 4C Totally light 2Go, Reflekt Polarized sunglasses, Spalding,ZEMgear, SOB Vacations, Rider Sandals, Park & Sun net systems, DigMagazine, and Rox Volleyball. The public can met the players every Saturdayevening at the official Player’s Party at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront’s Tiki Bar.
