During the summer months I don’t plan to enroll in races, my first race after summer period will be Sept 29 (a 10 miler) , i want to give my knees, ankles, etc.; a break during the hot Texas months. I have run 10 half marathons and 2 marathons + few short races over a year and half period.
However, I don’t want to be too much out of shape so I am currently running 7-10 miles per week. My weigh is 166 pounds and I am 5’9
My question is: do you recommend taking a break from running (meaning not running at all), if so, for how long? Or do you recommend i maintain easy weekly runs like 7-10 miles?
