I ran this half marathon last year, after the Derby and Indy 500 Festival halfs. It is one of the later minis that you'll find in the area until the Fall. The course is very flat. There are police blocking the streets and intersections that are critical (like Fredrica), but the streets are not completely blocked off for the event. I think last year it seemed like there were 200-300 people. Nice folks organizing the event. Water was about every mile. Half the course is through nice hold streets with good shade, and half is pretty exposed. Medals and shirt were okay for the price. All in all about what you would expect for a relatively new mini in Owensboro, and I mean that only in terms of the number of participants. It was very hot last year and the volunteers did a great job. I will be returning this year to run it again.
