Does transdermal delivery through a patch work? Amino patches can help with recovery

The ability of substances to enter the bloodstream and successfully travel to their intended location via a transdermal delivery system (such as a patch) depends on the amount of substance(s) and the time periods at which they are released. Multiple studies attest to the ability of specifically tailored transdermal patches to transmit essential amino acids. Amongst the various amino acids tested for penetration across the dermal layers and into the bloodstream, study A shows BCAAs yieldedthe highest rates of penetration. Study B provides a method by which to predictthe ability of amino acids to penetrate porcine skin. Overall, with a controlled dosage and time-release delivery system, amino acids enter the bloodstream and aid the body in conserving energy through the prevention ofmuscle catabolism and by aiding in crucial repair mechanisms.
