I wanted to give this event zero stars but the system requires at least one.  Horrible, horrible "race".  Horrible.  It was poorly organized and dangerous, and the Chamber of Commerce employees are extremely rude to money-spending visitors.  The pre-race bib pick-up process was complete chaos - we couldn't believe it was the 30th annual race!  There were no race t-shirts available to those who registered through (we had pre-paid for two t-shirts), and the Chamber of Commerce employees blamed it on  I called two days later, and they stated that the race organizers either didn't follow directions correctly or didn't know how to use the system at all.  We followed the Chamber of Commerce's instructions and attempted to pick up our race bibs   t-shirts the day prior to the race.  When we finally located a Chamber of Commerce employee in town (the office was closed, even though we arrived there during their normal operating hours....), we were treated very, very rudely by her.  She snidely stated that all the t-shirts had been attached to bibs and that we were GUARANTEED to receive our pre-paid t-shirts at the race.  The race was very dangerous, as we had to periodically run through traffic and dodge vehicles, and there were no police at all on the course to help protect the participants.  The race was advertised to include dirt.  Yeah....there was 5"-wide strip of dirt alongside the paved road for maybe half of a mile. They also advertised that post-race "bottled water, juice, fruit and other goodies will be provided to participants".  The only thing available after the race was Powerade.  DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME IN GRAND LAKE.
