MCM - true grit

My MCM experience was one of "true grit" - unfortunately I started cramping at mile 14 and carried those cramps all the way to the end. I was able to maintain a 10-ish min/mile pace for a while, but eventually I had to slow waaay down. Lotta discomfort, but all I could think of was what those Marines go through, so I dogged it out to the finish. I was a blob of pain from the waist down by the time I crossed that finish line (and YES, I did run up that hill !)

Don't know what brought it on - felt like I was more than adequately conditioned and nutritioned. I know that my legs were very cold (I wore short running shorts in anticipation of mid 50's), and the colder they got, the tighter they got.  Perhaps my hams and quads finally said "to heck with you, we want some blood flow" and staged a palace revolt. Next time I'll wear pants.... oorah
