Metrowest Thunder 16U Coach Caitlin Belanger (see bio below) is seeking a few committed players to round out the roster.  To schedule a private tryout, please contact Coach Belanger at cebela11@g.holycrossedu METROWEST THUNDER: Metrowest Thunder Softball Program will offer competitive travel teams based at Slugger’s Academy in Medfield for girls at the U12, U14, U16, U18 and U18 College Showcase levels.  Our goal is to build self-confidence and improve skill while competing at a high level. We will focus on the complete player and person, on and off the field.  All of our head coaches will be non parents and have training at the highest level of the game in order to retain our players throughout our program.  Our mission is to teach our players the game of softball while still having fun!  Our teams will play in Fall and Summer tournaments and all of our Winter training will be based at the state of the art facility, Sluggers Academy in Medfield, MA.  The number of tournaments, practices and training varies depending on age level and Coach preference. CAITLIN BELANGER After graduating from Durfee High School in 2007, Caitlin received a scholarship to play Division I softball at Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, where she played from 2007-2011. In both the 2010 and 2011 seasons she was named to the All Patriot League Second Team. Caitlin received Patriot League Player of the Week as well as ECAC Player of the Week in the spring of 2011. She currently holds Holy Cross single season records for at bats, runs scored, hits, doubles and stolen bases. Caitlin holds the Holy Cross career record for stolen bases, and is in the top five for runs, base on balls, batting average and slugging percentage. After graduating from Holy Cross in 2011, she was asked to play professionally for the Neunkirchen Nightmares out of Germany. Throughout the 2011 and 2012 summers Caitlin played in Holland, Italy and throughout Germany for the Nightmares, qualifying for the European Cup both years. Upon returning to the states, she began coaching for the Worcester Heat, and now coaches the 16U Metrowest Thunder team. .
