Supporting interlacing and high definition, MPEG-2 standard was considerably broader in scope and of wider appeal. On the Windows platform, it's often necessary to convert MXF to MPEG-2 SD or convert MXF to Full HD MPEG-2 for editing in Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, etc. Conversion is easy but the preset to achieve settings that you need brings test.
"We are attempting to convert .mxf files from a Canon XF300 into mpeg2 SD 720*480 (for a 4:3 ratio). However, the files are still coming out 16:9.. When we choose the mpeg2 preset, the source reads as 1920*1080, and the target reads as 720*480, but they’re still coming out 16:9. In a nutshell, we simply need to convert MXF files to 4:3 ratio that Elements 9 can read."
So our task is to transcode MXF into MPEG-2 SD 720x480 with 4:3 ratio. Honestly, it's just a piece of cake with Aunsoft TransMXF Pro. The program allows you easily set video resolution from Full HD 1920*1080 to SD 720*480. And you can fastest convert 16:9 MXF to 4:3 MPEG-2. The built-in editor tool also provides some useful edit functions which enable you to enhance the video clips, including cropping, flipping, trimming, splitting, apply special effects, add subtitles and watermark. For instance, you can convert MXF into MPEG-2 with vertical flipping or horizontal flipping. And one highlight I appreciate is the perfect audio and video synchronization technology the program use.
Want to preserve, separate and mix audio tracks from source MXF? It's no problem! TransMXF Pro, as the only completely multichannel project solution, is able to export 2, 4, 8 or more audio tracks when transcoding MXF to MOV, MKV and MP4.
