If there is aplateau, this means we’ve found the maintenance place and we can reduce fromthere.
While itmay seem tedious to take weight loss slowly, we need to compare choices: is itbetter to lose 1 pound a week for 50 weeks and keep the weight off, or lose 10pounds right away, 5 more over the next few weeks, then plateau and eventuallygive up all together?
Whileimmediate weight loss can feel like a success, it can eventually lead to areversion into old habits when plateaus are reached. Slow and steady truly wins the race, and inorder to accomplish that many need to eat more and exercise the same to reachtheir weight loss goals.
