Alright so long story short I'm getting ready to deploy in a week and apparently running shoes are really expensive where we're going so I'm trying to get some shoes while were in the states. My cardio was really good coming out of basic, by army standard (I was running a low 13's on my two mile) but since getting to my unit and being able to have freedom it went down to the low 14's (still pretty good by army standards). So I came here seeking shoe advice so I don't have to go to one of those running store where shoes are a whole 20-40 dollars more than at footlocker etc. I need support shoes that will hold up well on gravel and rough surfaces. I've been wearing the new new balance 990s and have like them considerably and wouldn't mind wearing them again. My sergeant wants to clock 1000 miles while were there and I want to have shoes that will hold up.
